Families who are in our Service Dog Program are welcome to visit us at the ranch for some much deserved respite. We encourage the whole family to visit (those with autism and their mainstream siblings) and enjoy a judgement-free environment. Day trips and overnight stays are available. Our facility is fenced, safe and staffed by understanding volunteers. Ride a horse, play with puppies, or have a drink on the patio. Most importantly, relax.
In addition to our respite program, we host a once a year camp weekend. The camp weekend is designed for the whole family, with special attention on caregiver pampering. We provide respite volunteers to help our families with all their needs. Enjoy home cooked meals, campfires, live music, outdoor movie night, field trips, and horse rides. Sleep under the stars. Families who are new to the world of autism have the opportunity to learn from more experienced families about what worked and what did not work for their children. This community atmosphere creates bonds of support that go well beyond tips for life with a Service Dog. Discussions of current treatments and trends occur in a casual atmosphere of campfires and s’mores. Families leave with new friends that celebrates the victories and challenges all our families face.
These services are provided free of charge thanks to contributions from our donors.
