Our Programs

We make life more enjoyable with dogs and meaningful experiences

Monkey Tail Ranch trains and places facility dogs that support thousands of students and community members across Santa Clara and San Benito Counties and beyond.

At Monkey Tail Ranch, we train dogs to support individuals, schools, and community organizations. Our programs focus on placing highly trained dogs where they can improve emotional well being, support learning, and provide comfort during challenging situations.

Facility Dog Training

Facility dogs live and work with professionals in schools, courts, and community organizations. These dogs partner with teachers, counselors, therapists, and law enforcement professionals to provide emotional support and help create calmer, more supportive environments.

In schools, facility dogs often assist with:
  • Reading programs that build confidence and literacy
  • Helping students regulate emotions during stressful moments
  • Encouraging engagement and participation in classroom activities
  • Supporting students experiencing anxiety, trauma, or behavioral challenges

In courts and community programs, facility dogs may support individuals during interviews, testimony, or other difficult
experiences by providing comfort and grounding.

The presence of a well-trained facility dog often helps reduce stress, improve communication, and strengthen connections between students, staff, and the communities they serve.

Service Dog Training

Monkey Tail Ranch also trains service dogs for individuals and families. These dogs are trained to perform specific tasks that help mitigate the effects of a person’s disability and improve independence and daily functioning.

Service dogs may assist individuals with developmental, neurological, or mental health challenges by providing emotional regulation, grounding, task assistance, and increased confidence in public settings.

Each service dog is carefully matched with its handler to create a successful long term partnership. If your family is interested in becoming part of our service dog program, we invite you to reach out for a phone consultation. If your situation is a good fit, Monkey Tail Ranch will invite you to apply for a service dog. Applications sent in without going through this prerequisite process will not be processed.
